Since 1968, Center at 353 has been serving residents of the greater Princeton community.
Center at 353, formerly Trinity Counseling Service, was originally founded by The Rev. E. Rugby Auer to meet the mental health needs of his parishioners. In 1977, TCS incorporated as a private, not-for-profit 501 (c) 3, independent counseling service. Over the next 18 years, Rev. Auer and his Board of Trustees grew and strengthened the organization. Reverend Peter Stimpson was hired in 1989, and for the next 25 years, further developed and grew TCS.
Since that time, many thousands of individuals and families of all faiths and backgrounds have benefited from our mental health services. We provide individual, couples, family, and group counseling and psychotherapy services. In addition, we work closely with area schools including Princeton, West Windsor – Plainsboro, Cranbury School, and the Princeton Nursery School to provide mental health and wellness services to our community’s most vulnerable children and their families.
For 48 years, TCS was located on the grounds of Trinity Church at 22 Stockton St. In 2019, as a result of a successful Capital Campaign, we purchased and fully renovated 353 Nassau Street.
