Can counseling help me?

We are often faced with life events that are difficult to sort through, and sometimes, we are confronted with problems that are too difficult to manage alone. Relationship problems, work-related issues, parenting challenges, depression, grief, aging parent concerns, and chronic health difficulties are just a few examples of common difficulties that can diminish our abilities to manage our activities from one day to the next. Read through the statements below. If any sound true for you or someone you know, counseling may be helpful. I or someone I know:

Why did TCS change its name?

  • The number #1 goal of our recent 5-year strategic plan (2022-27): change name to reinforce brand and identity as an independent mental health agency providing comprehensive resources to the community.

  • We believe our new name, Center at 353, with descriptors, Counseling, Psychotherapy, Education, is comprehensive, welcoming, and conveys who we are and what we do.

Is the Center at 353 still part of Trinity Church?

  • In 1977, TCS incorporated as a private, non-profit, 501 (C) 3, becoming independent of Trinity Church. We continue to honor our legacy and partnership with Trinity Church and look forward to ongoing relationship for decades to come.

Do you offer faith-based counseling or services?

  • Center at 353 provides referrals for faith-based spiritual direction and pastoral counseling and will continue its long-standing partnership with Princeton Theological Seminary. We also provide neuropsychological testing services for ministry candidates in NJ, NY, PA , and CT.

What sets us apart? Access to Care

  • Center at 353 accepts Aetna, BCBS, Medicare, Princeton Theological Seminary insurance and we process claims for out-of-network insurance. We offer sliding-scale services. We also offer grant-funded treatment. No one is turned away due to lack of resources.

Our Clinical Team

  • Center at 353 is a trauma-informed agency. Our licensed clinicians are trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities and certified as clinical trauma professionals, and/or trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

  • Center at 353 treats children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.

Core Programming: The Work of Center at 353

  • General Counseling: Comprehensive, in-person and virtual, individual, couples and group mental health resources for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.

  • Childhood Intervention Initiative (CII): Primarily funded through grants and individual contributions, the CII provides children and families, living at or below the federal poverty level, with mental health services and support.

  • Bereavement and Caregiver’s Program (BCP): For clients with challenges of grief and loss and clients caring for loved ones.

  • Community Outreach Prevention and Education Program (COPE): Workshops, talks, consultations, and outreach designed to meet the ongoing need for mental health education and prevention services in our community.

  • Testing Services: Psychological testing to support and enhance performance and life goals.

  • Psychological Evaluations for Ministry Candidates: Psychological testing for a variety of presbyteries and dioceses in NY, NJ, CT, and PA.

  • Referrals and placement services: When calling for services, every prospective client is screened by a licensed intake coordinator. Multiple referrals are given when Center at 353 is not appropriate fit for treatment.

Is parking available?

  • There are 6 metered spots in front of the building at $1/hour and payable by change or card (or you can use the ParkPrinceton app).

  • Additionally, public street parking is available on nearby streets (Markham, Sergeant, Wilton). Please make sure to read any signs indicating otherwise.

  • Please allow enough time before your session to find a legal parking spot.
